“Night air, good conversation, and a sky full of stars can heal almost any wound.”
- Beau Taplin, poet and author
I played music professionally in Bristol in the eighties and nineties and toured extensively. I gigged and recorded with a number of original artists.
I lost confidence in my creative talent through poor mental health, relationship breakdowns and sadly, a destructive peer network at that time. I have regathered my creative energy after a cancer diagnosis in 2024, which also added fuel to a personal re-connection with music. I want to create a movement of truth and honesty where music and creative expression is the focal point of gigs, recordings and events ‘In The Room’ is my mini album. Guitar and vocals are the pure ingredients for the album. All performed by me. Three original pieces and three re-dusted classics from lifetime influences.
Along with pushing my message of being truly present at music and other creative events, I am passionate about encouraging creativity for wellness and societal change. I perform with impact and passion and we want to reach all who will listen. The sound that I create is many things in terms of influence but I basically pull together layers of ingredients to produce something that stirs people’s emotions and gives them a sense of progress and satisfaction. My sound is sonic layers and shading using beats, voices, instruments and electronic kit to make nice noises. I apply this to thoughtfully designed arrangements which can also stand alone in a traditional singer-songwriter context.
